Getting the Slab Ready

In the last post, we saw the progress in going from a dustry, dry field to an area cleared for the slab.  The following pictures show the progress from creating the forms to installing the plumbing to final prep to pour.  There were a few middle of the night phone conversations here in Australia.  These were mostly due to making sure we had all the plumbing in the right spot, talking closely with the concrete contractor and scheduling the inspection that we wanted to happen before the concrete was poured.  You can see the progress in these pictures as we go from dirt and a few forms to an inspected, ready-to-pour set of forms:
And the good news is that we passed the inspection.  According to the inspector, though, the plumbing in the main bath/laundry room and the master bathroom are a couple of inches further back than the drawings show.  Talking to Tim the architect, we'll just have to measure everything again when we're there and adjust the plans to reflect the slightly different location, if necessary.  It's not the end of the world if the master bathroom is 2" bigger than it was on the plan.

Concrete trucks arrive Monday 13 June at about 5:30 AM.  That will be exciting!
